F.A.N.S. Family Alliance Network and Support

FANS stands for Family Alliance Network Support, and is open to all families who are supported through the ARC of Stark County, Inc.  FANS welcomes and encourages all to attend their monthly meetings and enjoy the monthly activities.  As things begin to happen and events are planned, you will be notified by our monthly newsletter. 

FANS features topical meetings each month featuring expert, guest speakers.  Following our speaker, attendees will breakout into groups based on what disability they have a direct connection to, for example, Autism, Down syndrome etc.

Sibshops

Sibshops is a support group for 6 to 10 year olds who have brothers or sisters with developmentally disabilities.  Meetings are held monthly, usually on the second Saturday at Beyond Our Boundaries.  While this is a free program, we do require that you call the Arc to register first.  The children attending will do all sorts of fun activities designed to help enhance their relationship with their sibling.  It's also a chance for them to meet new friends who can understand the issues they are facing.

SCAAN: Stark County Autism Aspergers Network

SCAAN consists of family members of individuals with Autism as well as professionals who work with them.  They work on very ambitious projects such as our Annual Autism Forum.  If you are interested in truly making a difference in the lives of individuals with Autism, please join SCAAN by contacting the Arc at (330) 492-5225.

Family Advocacy Services

Assistance, referral, and information to individuals and families dealing with issues related to MRDD.  For more information on our advocacy program click on the "Advocacy & QA" link.
